Street furniture is all around us. It is so commonplace that we are hardly aware of these objects in our surroundings. The exhibition on the schoolyard of Museum Het Schip offers insight into the rise of Amsterdam School street furniture, its designers, and its commissioners.

Style History

Urinals, mailboxes, lampposts, and waste bins all have a rich and eventful style history. A significant turning point in this history was the influence of the architects and artists of the Amsterdam School.
