A grand collection
The museum displays an extensive collection of firefighting equipment, ranging from early tools dating from 1550 to modern systems. Marvel at the collection of handheld extinguishers, beautifully decorated pumps and dozens of leather buckets. Unique pumps from Soestdijk Palace stand alongside the wheelbarrow-mounted pumps used by early company fire brigades. Highlights include the historic fire engines, some of which still work, and the bright red fire trucks with their shiny brass trim: the legendary Ahrens-Fox engine with the distinctive accumulator on top of the pump, and its deluxe Italian Fiat engine.
