On the long, stately main road (Hoofdweg) in Bellingwolde, you will find a unique museum which frequently hosts new exhibitions large and small. Although many focus on art, some also highlight the history and imagery of Westerwolde.
The MOW | Museum Westerwolde has a permanent exhibition of paintings by Lodewijk Bruckman, a Dutch magical realist painter who includes symbols in his paintings. The entrance area often displays works of art with a regional connection.
