History comes alive

The dynamic history of Haarlemmermeer comes alive at the Haarlemmermeer Historical Museum. Take a look inside the café, church, bank or school. Meet the early pioneers, who will tell you all about agriculture in the polder, its difficult start and subsequent development. There is also an exhibition on the polder in the Second World War.

From the past to the present

The route ends on the topics of the contemporary polder, Schiphol and the many modern industrial areas. A variety of interactive and playful elements have been included especially for children.
