Like a sparkling diamond, the 14th-century borg takes center stage. Throughout the centuries, the different families that lived in the borg changed it to suit their needs. Today, the stronghold tells the story of the Van Bolhuis-Frima family during the second half of the 19th century. It looks as if the inhabitants have just left and could be back any moment!
Estate
The estate also includes a laborer’s house dating back to 1888. The farm and coach house are where you’ll find the exhibitions, museum shop and museum café. The barn has been furnished in the style of a traditional Groningen barn in the 19th century. The orchard is home to over 100 fruit varieties, and the garden hosts sculptures by Eddy Roos.
Various events take place on the estate during high season.
