Happy Birthday to Amsterdam, hurray! Why do we celebrate the birthday of the city of Amsterdam in the village of Muiden, you ask? Well, we call ourselves ‘Amsterdam Castle’ for a reason, you know. If you’re curious, you should definetely come by.
No Amsterdam Without Muiden
Count Floris V of Holland, who built Amsterdam Castle, was good to Amsterdam. He made sure this city didn’t have to pay toll, which helped to make the city as great as it became!

Well, when it’s your birthday, it is custom to treat your guests with cake. That’s what Muiderslot will do! Also, there are several free guided tours you can join. The theme of the tours is Amsterdam, of course.
