Betreed de adembenemende wereld van SHAPE! In deze modetentoonstelling verken je surreële, futuristische en verleidelijke looks die geïnspireerd zijn op het menselijk lichaam.

Zelfbeeld

Er is in korte tijd veel veranderd. Online krijgen we niet alleen continue het ideale schoonheidsbeeld te zien, we kunnen het ook zelf creëren met avatars, filters of AI. Medische en cosmetische ingrepen zijn steeds toegankelijker. Het gesprek over culturele identiteit, seksualiteit en genderrollen wordt opener gevoerd, maar stuit ook op hevig verzet. Wat doet dit alles met ons zelfbeeld? En hoe hybride is het menselijk lichaam?

In SHAPE presenteert het museum conceptuele, sculpturale mode en body related art waarmee de ontwerper ingaat op de maakbaarheid van het lichaam. De tentoonstelling combineert bekende modeontwerpen, bijvoorbeeld van Iris van Herpen of de puffer coat die TV-personage Carrie Bradshaw droeg, maar ook digitale mode en intrigerende installaties die speciaal voor deze tentoonstelling in het TextielLab zijn gemaakt.
