The Chambers of Wonder

Exceptional objects

The three cabinets contain more than a hundred exceptional objects collected by Zeelanders. Central to the displays is the relationship between art and science. For example, not only is the design of the Chinese vase fascinating, but so too is the technology of the porcelain production process. Consider how hard would it be to move such a large vase in and out of the kiln. The displays have been devised in collaboration with the artist Pepijn van den Nieuwendijk (Cirque de Pepin).
