Drents Museum De Buitenplaats in Eelde is open again! Under a new name and with a new direction. From 2024, Drents Museum De Buitenplaats will be a full part of the Drents Museum in Assen. In the renovated museum, the Art Nouveau coast takes center stage, based on the Drents Museum's collection of art around 1900.

The De Buitenplaats ensemble includes the 20th-century museum pavilion and permanent garden and the 17th-century Nijsinghhuis with murals of the Northern Figuratives. Het Drentse Landschap owns the ensemble and is responsible for its management.
